The business park sits on a previous coal-fired power station at North Quay in Hayle
This was an ideal location for the new park as Hayle is home to Wave Hub Ltd, the world’s largest marine energy test site a few miles from the Cornish coast. Both of which are important components of the Offshore Renewables Development Programme which aims to develop Cornwall’s potential for renewable energy.
Severn industrial units are also provided within the business park, all with secure access and parking. These units offer ideal access to the sea where innovative equipment can be tested.
Green Strategy
Cornwall Council promotes sustainable development for the benefit of one and all in the management and delivery of all its services through integrated social, economic and environmental objectives; seeking to achieve its vision of “a strong and sustainable community for One and All.” As well as meeting Cornwall Council’s sustainability goals, using BREEAM can increase the health and wellbeing of tenants as well as reduce operational costs. It was also an ERDF funding requirement to achieve BREEAM Excellent to accord with the environmental sustainability cross cutting theme that underpinned the Convergence funding programme.
“This new business park will cement Cornwall’s position at the forefront of the development of marine energy, and as the local councillor I am proud to see Hayle playing such an important part in this fast-growing industry” says John Pollard, Councillor for Hayle North and Leader of Cornwall Council.
