BRE are pleased to advise that we are now offering SABRE Assessor training courses specifically for BREEAM Assessors and assessors of other building performance assessment schemes.
In the UK New Construction 2018 scheme, SABRE is recognised as a security rating scheme for the assessment of the Hea 06 credit issue. As such, there has been significant increase in awareness of the scheme, not only amongst end users but also BREEAM Assessors. The register of SABRE Licensed companies, seen here, has therefore grown rapidly.
Whilst SABRE is a security-focussed scheme, it adopts an identical structure to BREEAM UK New Construction. It relies on the importance of process and the use of ‘competent persons’ to underpin robustness of approach. It therefore does not necessitate the Assessor to be a security expert, and opens up the potential for delivery by experienced Assessors of other building performance schemes, such as BREEAM.
If your organisation would like the ability to offer SABRE assessment services in addition to BREEAM assessments, and it has candidates who meet the eligibility criteria described in PN715, then please contact [email protected] to register your interest in attending training. Training consists of a 1-day session (9am-5pm) and due to current travel/distancing restrictions is currently delivered online through Microsoft Teams.
The first scheduled course date is 15th May 2020 (registrations close at end of April), but the SABRE team can also offer private courses for individual companies.
